History of Animals

Our solar system, our sun and planets formed about 4.6 billion years ago, it was a long process, which took about 100 million years to form. Almost nothing is known in the first 600 to 800 million years of Earth’s history except we know the surface was engulfed in blazing heat from the inner processes of earth development, covered in deadly radiation from the sun’s ray, and clashing with enormous meteorites. Around 3.9 billion years ago, Earth was cooled enough to form a thin crust on the surface.

Once that happened, there were life appearing in different part of the planet.

The word animal means “air” or “breath”, it comes from the Latin anima. From that meaning, the Romans use “breathe of life,” or “soul.” consequently, anima came to signify an animated, moving, perceiving, and reacting creature. That remains a good working explanation of the organisms we call animals.

Scientists assign animals as multicellular heterotrophs. Hetero means “other,” and “troph” refers to how an organism gets its nutrition. Animals need to obtain their nourishment by ingesting or absorbing other living beings. Plants get their energy from photosynthesis by sunlight, plants are known as autotrophs.

Animals

Animals always have been a fascination for human. We know this by studying the earliest human hunters who learned to hunt with swift and cautious in order to track the animals. Also from the idea in mystical power between man and certain birds or reptiles or mammals through myths. For example, the snake’s ability to shed its skin and thereby gain immortality; from the ancient Egyptian religion, in which the sacred gods took both animal and human forms; from the folk tales of the fox and the grapes, the tortoise and hare, the diligent ant and the courageous lion.
