People of the Stone Age
While the last Ice Age was ending, so was another long period in human development, the Paleolithic Age, also known as Old Stone Age. Paleolithic humans survived by hunting animals and by gathering wild berries and grains. The hunting and gathering of food kept people migrate, making them nomads. To find animals to hunt, they had to follow nomadic herds and move on when they had picked an area clean of its edible plants.
This nomadic lifestyle resulted in the Paleolithic people to live in small groups. Most often they are extended families of 20 to 30 people per group. Each group has enough people to do the work without having too many mouths to feed.
