Computers are some of the most powerful tools ever been invented. Computers can be use in a number of ways, not only in industry, government, schools and large corporations, but also in homes. Most people use them to write letters, send email, surf the internet, do tax returns, schedule medical appointments, pay bills, send faxes, keep track of addresses, communicate with friends around the world, design graphics, play games, watch movies and perform many other activities.
In addition, schools have embraced computers, both for helping students or administrative work. Computers can help students developed essential skills, more often in creative. Also, it can be an important research tools, for allowing access to online libraries, internet and other research organizations.
However, computers do have its limitations. Teachers have often distress about the low quality of many computer software programs. In addition, doing on-line research is frequently more complicated, slow, and costly than using printed sources like books.
It is very serious for students to feel comfortable using both printed and electronic resources on computers, and to have them decide on their own which resource is most appropriate in different conditions. For instance, turning on a computer and load an electronic map program to find the capital city of Thailand; when this can be done much more quickly using a printed map.
